Satpura Tiger Safari offers a holistic experience of Satpura Tiger Reserve exploring the park by boat, jeep & foot, guided by an experienced English-speaking naturalist. There is an opportunity to stay inside the park in Churna Forest Rest House and a unique experience of reaching the lodge through the reservoir on a beautiful cruise. You get to explore the world heritage site – Bhimbetka Caves – while travelling from the airport to the lodge.
Satpura National Park offers surreal views of wilderness and tranquillity. Satpura’s charming landscape with its rich tapestry of flora and fauna is home to the Spotted Deer, Indian Bison (Gaur), Tigers, Wild boar, Wild dog (Dholes), Blackbuck, Porcupine, Sambhar, Four Horned antelopes (Chowsingha), Crocodile, Malabar squirrels, Langurs, and the famous Albino Gaurs. Sloth bear and Leopard sightings are the special attractions of Satpura Tiger Safari.
The water bodies attract a host of local and migratory birds, making Satpura a bird watcher’s paradise. Home to raptors like the Honey Buzzard, Black Eagle, Rufous-bellied Eagle, and many others, one can also delight in spotting Malabar Pied Hornbill, Paradise Fly Catcher, Migrant Waterfowl, Bar-headed Goose, Pintail, Garganey, Pochard, and Ruddy Shelduck. Rare species like the Indian Skimmer and other wading birds also visit this serene national park.
Satpura Tiger Safari Itinerary Day by Day
Day 01: Satpura National Park
Arrive Bhopal and transfer to Tawa Dam en route visiting Bhimbetka Rock Shelters. From Tawa dam to Denwa Backwater Escape by boat (2.5-3hrs), adding to the experience of reaching the lodge. Lunch will be served on boat. Evening at leisure.
Day 02: Satpura National Park
Walking safaris in the morning, Lunch followed by evening Jeep Safari in the National Park.
Day 03: Satpura National Park
Full day jeep safari to Churna Zone with overnight stay inside the national park at Churna forest rest house.
Day 04: Satpura National Park
Morning safari from Churna and return to lodge for lunch. Guided nature walk in the evening around the lodge.
Day 05: Satpura National Park
Walking safari inside the national park in morning. Late evening safari in buffer zone to spot nocturnal wildlife.
Day 06: Satpura National Park
Breakfast and transfer to Bhopal for further connections.

What is the best time for a tiger safari in Satpura?
Satpura National Park is open around the year but the core zones are closed from 1st July to 30th Sept due to monsoons. October to March offers the best weather with sunny days and very few days of rain. April to June gets hot but is excellent for sightings in the park. Buffer zone in Satpura is open from 1st July to 30th June and is a spectacular time to witness the lush green forest and misty mountains of Pachmari.
