Thrilling Sighting of the Legend of Bandhavgarh

Yesterday was the day for Samarth and Pooja to meet with the living legend of Bandhavgarh- Bamera!! They both are our guests at Tree House Hideaway, Luxury Lodges in Bandhavgarh by Pugdundee Safaris.

They were on their safari guided by a very knowledgeable naturalist of ours, Kshitij. It was their third ride in the majestic jungles of Bandhavgarh National Park. They were enjoying and appreciating the beauty of it, but the eyes still wanted to see the king of the jungle. Kshitij explains that there were near Sita Mandap in Tala zone and strong alarm calls of spotted deer was coming from that part of the forest.

Bamera - Legend of Bandhavgarh

They followed the calls and joined a few more vehicles patiently waiting and listening to the calls. They waited there for some more time but they only could see more vehicles joining. Kshitij decided to move back and have a round of Barwa nala, the place from where they started listening to the alarm calls. As they headed back, his eyes caught fresh and huge pugmarks of a tiger.  The excitement was pulled up in speed and so were the gears of the gypsy. They followed the fresh new pugmarks on the road and reached a tree that the tigers use as a scratching post.

They crossed the steep and their eyes met with shiny yellowish orange and black stripes leisurely lying down on the brownish sandy pathway. The legend itself-Bamera!! “We were so thrilled to see that huge tiger lying down just a few feet away from us. When the guide told us that it was a Bamera, we were awestruck. There were two more jeeps standing from the opposite side, facing it. We were just wondering why those people from the jeeps must be so lucky to stand facing the Bamera. And at that very moment, the huge king of the jungle lifted its head up and looked behind. Wow, that was something really amazing!” said Pooja and Samarth.
